Before you get in touch

The most common questions about typesetting, proofreading, files and printing. If something is not here, just write, I am happy to explain.

A publishing sheet is 40,000 characters with spaces, roughly 22 A5 pages. It is the industry unit that makes quoting typesetting and proofreading convenient. An approximate character or page count is enough for a quote.

It depends on length and complexity. As a guide: a sample of a dozen or so pages in 2-3 days, a full publication from a couple of weeks upwards. The exact schedule is set with the quote. If your deadline is tight, say so up front.

Ideally Word (DOC or DOCX) or other editable text, without forced formatting. Photos and graphics separately, in the highest available quality (TIFF, PNG, JPG, vectors in AI, EPS or PDF). The cleaner the material, the fewer surprises during typesetting.

Proofreading catches errors: typos, punctuation, spelling and typographic slips. Editing goes deeper, improving style, syntax, consistency and the logic of the text. For publications it is often worth combining both.

Yes. On request I take care of printing at trusted print houses and delivery of finished copies. You can also take just the files from me and print on your own. Printing cost depends mainly on the run, and you can add it in the calculator.

Yes, I prepare EPUB and MOBI versions, as well as interactive flipbooks. An e-book can be made alongside print typesetting or from a finished publication.

The price depends on the type of publication, length, complexity and the services chosen. The fastest way to get an approximate range is the calculator on the Contact page. I prepare an exact quote after seeing the materials.
