Nº 02 · Studio

Typesetting is not just arranging letters, it is a craft.

The Kielce-based DTP studio is run by Wojciech Ciągło, a typographer with fourteen years of experience working on books, catalogues, academic monographs and museum publications. We treat every project as a separate challenge, no two books are alike, no two covers are alike. An individual approach to every commission.

We work in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, but behind the tools there is always a person who knows when to break a line and when to let a widow stand. Because good typesetting is the kind nobody notices.

How it works

How working together looks

I

Contact and brief

You tell me about the project: what kind of publication, approximate length, format, deadline. The more detail, the more accurate my reply.

II

Quote and schedule

Within 1-2 business days you get a concrete quote and a plan: what, when and in what order. No hidden costs.

III

Design and typesetting

I prepare the first versions and together we settle the typographic direction. This is where the publication finds its character.

IV

Proofreading and revisions

Rounds of corrections, language proofreading, fine-tuning details. We work until every page holds together.

V

Print preparation

Final files ready for the press: PDF/X with bleeds, registration marks and CMYK profiles. Plus the source file for future reprints.

VI

Printing and delivery

If you commission printing, I oversee it at trusted print houses and you receive finished copies. If not, you get files buttoned up to the last detail.
