To begin, I need your manuscript and a short description of the intended publication. If you have not chosen the size, binding or print run, tell me who the book is for. I will help identify the decisions needed for a quotation. Before typesetting, I will also establish whether the text is ready for layout.
I develop the page layout, typography, spacing and treatment of chapters. The agreed scope can include footnotes, bibliographies, tables and indexes. I pay attention to line structure in poetry and the relationship between photographs and text in family publications.
Cover preparation can form part of the commission. I agree its scope, materials and cost individually. For a printed edition, I also need the agreed production specifications.
I can include ISBN assignment in the project. I discuss the arrangements at quotation stage, taking the planned publication formats into account.
I prepare EPUB, MOBI and flipbook publications. I agree the format with you according to the intended distribution method. I need the source text or layout files. I do not produce e-books from a finished print PDF.
I prepare files to the selected printer's requirements, including the appropriate PDF/X settings, bleeds and colour profiles. I check them before delivery. When I typeset a publication, print preparation is generally included in the typesetting price.
I can arrange production through one of five trusted print partners. The print run, price and delivery, including international delivery, are agreed individually.

Book typesetting starts at PLN 200 net per publishing unit. For continuous prose, one unit is approximately 40,000 characters including spaces. This is a text-volume measure used in Poland, not a printed sheet or a fixed number of book pages. Academic monographs are priced somewhat higher.
E-book preparation starts at PLN 125 net per publishing unit. When I also typeset the printed book, the electronic edition is available for an additional fee agreed in the quotation.
